Hong Kong Film Archive Stories: Treasure Hunting for 25 Years
The Hong Kong Film Archive marks its 25th anniversary with a special exhibition at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum. Drawing on more than 1.3 million film artefacts, the display offers a carefully curated selection of items of notable historical and cultural significance, inviting visitors to revisit the golden age of the screen.
Visitors enter via the dazzling photo tunnel of Hong Kong stars and step into a treasury of early Hong Kong cinema. A brisk sequence of historical trailers charts the medium’s development, while resplendent costumes highlight the craft of filmmaking. The “Hall of Honours” showcases awards generously donated by industry figures.
Listen to filmmakers’ deep and incisive reflections on local cinema, then explore the Archive’s publications and timeline of activities. Fun interactive installations connect audiences across time and space — this is a birthday bash not to be missed!
