Outdoor Music Carnival "ImagineLand"
The large-scale outdoor music carnival, ImagineLand, returns with a rich and diverse lineup of spectacular programmes to curate an immersive pop culture journey that is truly “beyond fantasy”.
At the Forest Stage, the “Go Beyond Concert” brings together a vibrant assembly of local rising stars, singer-songwriters and bands, alongside talented artists from Chinese Mainland and Thailand, breaking boundaries through an eclectic range of pop music genres. Making its grand debut this year is the Cantopop Party, where DJ will spin classic melodies across generations to evoke shared collective memories. Meanwhile, the Seed Stage showcases young musicians delivering refreshing, street-style performances that foster an intimate connection with the audience. The stage also features thematic sharing sessions, linking artistic creation with trendy culture to allow music enthusiasts to experience the profound power of creativity firsthand.
A must-visit “check-in” hotspot is the outdoor installation “Pop Unboxed”, which offers surprises at every turn by seamlessly fusing music, fashion, spatial design, comics and original IP elements. The “Funarts Corner” further enlivens the carnival atmosphere with its array of creative booths. For a unique cinematic experience, the “Movie Under the Stars” will host two consecutive nights of outdoor screenings on the lawn, featuring selected local fantasy-romance films: Last Song For You (2024) on 25 April and Fly Me to Polaris (1999) on 26 April.

Middle-aged musician So Sing Wah (Ekin Cheng) is stuck in a creative slump when he suddenly encounters Summer (Natalie Hsu), who claims to be the daughter of his good friend (Cecilia Choi). Initially, the lonesome man rebukes Summer’s offer to travel to Japan with him to execute her mother’s final wishes, insisting on keeping to himself. Yet he slowly thaws as the young girl reminds him of his classmate and musical soulmate Ha Man Huen (also played by Natalie Hsu), and the memories flood in: Ha telling him that she could see his future; bright summer days in the sun by the sea, sneaking into the school music room together to play the piano, sharing his musical creations … The past and the present ripple into each other as So and Summer travel along the river of time, exploring the origins of his musical passion, the twists and turns of love, and the very meaning of life itself. So comes to the realisation that everything before him is a heartfelt gift left by a kindred soul from many years ago.

Onion (Richie Jen) lost his powers of sight and speech in his youth, but he remains cheerful and optimistic despite his condition. Working while receiving treatment at the hospital, he is good friends with everyone, from doctors and nurses to the security guards. He shares a special bond with Autumn (Cecilia Cheung), a nurse who often confides in him, but before the two can confess their feelings for each other, Onion gets hit by a moving vehicle in a traffic accident. After he wakes up, he is told that he has passed away, but is granted one wish. He asks for the opportunity to return and express his love to Autumn—but he has to do so within five days’ time and without revealing his real identity.
Cecilia Cheung, fresh from her luminous debut as club hostess in King of Comedy (1999), is delicate and enchanting as Autumn. Paired with Richie Jen’s wordless but emotional performance, and framed by the old‑world charm of the historical Béthanie transformed into a hospital, their fairy-tale-like love story is tinged with a sense of wistfulness and romance.
