Joseph Koo composed thousands of music throughout his life. His music transcends boundaries between East and West. He was one of the pioneers of Cantonese popular music (Cantopop). Renowned for his compositions in numerous films and drama, Koo has garnered acclaim in both Hong Kong and overseas Chinese communities. Celebrated lyricist James Wong once bestowed Koo as the “Beethoven of China”, implying his exceptional musical genius. The concert will bring you to Koo’s musical realm, showcasing his creative journey from the perspective of Chinese music with thematic suites of his Cantonese music, nursery rhymes, film music, television music and more.
